Visionary, Gritty, Soulful
Describe your sound:
My music is a blend of Trap Drums mixed with sounds of Asian Heritage like the Tabla, Ghungroo, Sitaar or modern
Describe the moment you knew that you wanted to pursue music:
I was born into music as my father is a Tabla player by profession, I've known nothing outside of music. This is my heritage. I realised I was made for Trap music when I heard 'Freshman List" by Nav back in 2016.
How does your heritage impact your art?
I grew up learning the Tabla from my father, Pt. Tanmoy Bose and that influenced by production to the fullest, I always make sure to have South Asian/Indian Classical influences in every single track of mine including the Tabla, Ghungroo or Konakkol syllables.
What moment are you most proud of in your music journey so far?
I was chosen by Puma UK in Manchester to take part in an Artist development programme which allowed me to fully realise my vision and I feel like that was a changing point in my career. I've also played opening sets for King, Divine and many other major South Asian artists which I'm super proud of.
Your next music goal:
"BBC mein next" as I say in my latest song, which is where I want to be heard next, and be on some of the biggest festivals around Europe: Glastonbury, Breaking Borders.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who and why?
It'd be Kairo Keyz, Nav or Drake, because these three artists have shaped my vision. Nav's influence in trap, Kairo's innovation and of course, Drake's never ending development and vision for the future have inspired me a lot!
Your favourite song/lyrics:
"Nike don't pay me to tell you just do it, they pay me to show you I'd do it again" - Drake.
I love this line because he explains how people often mistake why artists of that calibre reach that status. I want to live by this idea.
3 songs you're listening to right now:
It's Cool - Fimiguerrero, TeeboFG and F1LTHY
Spain - 36
Last Call - Bryson Tiller
Your community shout out:
I can think of no one else outside of my father, Tanmoy Bose who has influenced nearly every bit of my music. He shaped my understanding of rhythm and understanding of music from the perspective of an artist that wants to shape the future of music and not just that of an accompanying percussionist.
Anything else you'd like to share:
My newest track "Diamonds" explains my sound very accurately, using modern UK Trap sounds with Asian percussions like the Tabla. I rap in Hindi and English and walk through the streets of Camden, London preaching my style of music in my music video. It's a must watch.
