The second chapter to the story of a Stepford soon-to-be escapee

Sick of it. That is how ARI LEE felt when she wrote her single “Caviar Pearl Spoons.” While the lead single of her upcoming EP, “Trophy Wife In Training” (released April 18), sarcastically narrates the way that women are oftentimes objectified in relationships, “Caviar Pearl Spoons” is its angrier sister, lamenting about dating someone who is nauseatingly superficial.

“Caviar Pearl Spoons” continues ARI’s story, detailing the end of her relationship with her captor – the man who views her as a mere “Trophy Wife In Training.” In this new song, ARI has grown tired of his obsession with optics and prestige, which is expressed through a more edgy, upbeat take on ARI LEE’s sound. She describes the song as “the second chapter to the story of a Stepford soon-to-be escapee; I wanted to capture the same rage that women feel when they are pushed into a box.”

By blending reality, fiction, and fun, ARI LEE hopes to continue releasing music that empowers women to let go of societal standards and go after what they want in life. As her favourite creator, Nur, once said, “chase dreams, not dick.”
