GET TO KNOW - completed April 2025
3 words to describe you:
Bright, creative and curious

Describe your sound:
Ethereal, dreamy, honest lyricism, multi genre, alluring and soft

Describe the moment you knew that you wanted to pursue music:
I feel like it has always been my purpose and destiny in life to pursue music. It’s the one thing that keeps me grounded and connected to myself. Looking back, I realize that every path I’ve taken has somehow led me back to this. Growing up learning piano, I always had a deep connection to music, and serendipitously, I kept finding myself in places and meeting people that pushed me further along this path. It’s truly been the most natural, unforced nudge to stay on this path.

How does your heritage impact your art?
As a Chiwi and Hapa Homegirl, my heritage is at the heart of who I am and how I express myself through music. The term "Hapa," originating from Hawaiian Pidgin to describe mixed ethnic backgrounds, has significantly shaped my journey. My Chinese side has been a foundational part of my upbringing, deeply influencing my life and sense of self. The values and experiences from this side of my heritage are woven into who I am - how I think, how I see the world, and how I share my story.

Growing up as someone with mixed heritage was often confusing, especially in a world that struggles to understand people like me. Over time, I’ve learned to embrace and celebrate my dual heritage, and I’m proud to share that journey through my art. My music and visuals are a way to honor both sides of me, and it's a reflection of the complexities, challenges, and beauty that come with being Hapa.

What moment are you most proud of in your music journey so far?
The moment I’m most proud of in my music journey so far is the work I’m currently releasing and what’s still to come. These projects feel like the truest versions of me. I’ve grown so much in understanding myself and my sound, and I truly believe this work reflects who I am more authentically than ever before.

Your next music goal:
I would love to do another festival run, just perform live more and keep creating visual worlds of my music.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who and why?
Lily Allen! She is so unique in her sound and story telling, it would be the most fun experience to be a part of!

"And if she's beside me, I know I need never care"
