3 words to describe you:
Nostalgic, curious, playful
Describe your sound:
I'd describe my sound as very dreamy, soft pop, and I am inspired by things like daydreams and sentimentality.
Describe the moment you knew that you wanted to pursue music:
I don't think it was one specific moment, I just kind of kept doing and pursuing it and never really stopped to think where it all came from or why I loved it so much. I remember performing in front of people for the first time as a kid at a school festival and realising that this was something that gave me energy in a way that nothing else did.
How does your heritage impact your art?
I think having access to multiple different cultures growing up made me more open to different ideas and ways of thinking, and I think that feeds into my appreciation of different music and art styles. I'm also aware of the importance music and singing have in Filipino culture, and being part of that community and tradition is a great feeling. I've definitely connected with other (Filipino) creatives through shared heritage and having that support and network is amazing.
What moment are you most proud of in your music journey so far?
I wrote and released a song in 2024 called 'Rollercoaster', and it received a spin on BBC Radio 1's Future Pop with Mollie King, which is the first time my song has been played on national radio! The song is about dealing with quite a painful experience and trying to see it in a balanced way, appreciating the good while moving on from the bad. I felt heard, and so happy it received that platform and industry validation.
Your next music goal:
I really want to release an EP or longer body of work in the near future, and am also looking forward to gigging regularly again!
If you could collaborate with anyone, who and why?
This is so hard to pick, there are so many! I would love to work with Jack Antonoff, he has produced so much of the music I've listened to over the last few years. Lorde as well, she seems so in touch with her creativity and I have been such a fan for so long.
Lyrics you live by:
"Karma's a relaxing thought"
(Karma - Taylor Swift)
3 songs you're listening to right now:
blade bird - Oklou
Can we talk about Isaac? - Rachel Chinouriri
Hocus Pocus - Mallrat
Your community shout out:
Sarah Kinsley (@sarahkinsleyd). Her songwriting, voice, production and artistry are just incredible and I'm so inspired by her. I'm always recommending her music, I think I could learn a lot from her.
Anything else you'd like to share:
I just released a new song called 'Yes I'm Angry', it's dreamy, emotional and definitely my edgiest song so far and I'm excited to spread the word!
