King Monday acts as an all-encompassing sound exploration project for Croydon born, Mauritian heritage artist Sherwyn Appadu. Since his 2017 debut EP, “78,” Sherwyn has continued to develop a voice that muses day-to-day observations and reflects upon his past experiences. Inspirations come from the UK dance scene, Jai Paul, Gorillaz, Tame Impala & many other collaborators & peers. Sherwyn's sonic diary has amassed attention for being an unpredictable, varied catalogue of everything from heavy hitting club tracks to gentle lullaby, liminal space inspired compositions. The album "King Monday (Self Titled)" (September 2022) gained Sherwyn's first plays on BBC Introducing & BBC Radio 1Xtra and a placement in Spotify's New Music Friday UK. A series of remixes for the album is being released this year starting with Kishan's UKG flip of Lifeyz on March 10th. (@kishanthakrar) (@bonfirerecs).
