SVFFER is a producer and DJ delivering a hard-hitting take on bass music with a focus on dubstep and drum & bass. Deeply rooted in the local underground scene, he actively helps drive and elevate bass music gigs across Yogyakarta, contributing to the city’s growing rave culture.
As a member of the Clandestin collective and an artist under independent label Ravehead Cultura Record, SVFFER represents the new wave of Yogyakarta’s electronic movement. His sound blends dark textures, heavy basslines, and high-energy drops built for clubs, warehouses, and late-night crowds. Always pushing his sound forward, SVFFER balances raw intensity with modern bass aesthetics. His debut album, released in January 2026, marks a major step in his journey and cements his presence in Indonesia’s evolving bass music scene.
My sound is a dark, high-energy blend of dubstep and drum & bass, driven by heavy basslines, raw textures, and rave-ready intensity.
Describe the moment you knew that you wanted to pursue music:
I’ve loved music since childhood, growing up surrounded by it at church, where music was always a powerful presence, and influenced further by my father, who is also a musician. That foundation led me to study music education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. During my college years, everything clicked—especially the first time I felt a crowd react to bass-heavy sounds I created. In that moment, I knew I wanted to pursue music seriously and be the one shaping energy, atmosphere, and emotion through sound.
How does your heritage impact your art?
My heritage grounds my art in a strong sense of community, discipline, and collective energy. Growing up in Yogyakarta which known as "The city of Arts" and being raised in a musical family shaped the way I approach sound and creativity. The city’s rich creative culture and underground scene influence my music to be expressive, intense, and community-driven—designed to be experienced together through shared energy, rhythm, and atmosphere.
What moment are you most proud of in your music journey so far?
I’m most proud of the moment I fully committed to my own sound and saw it resonate with people in the local scene through gigs, community support, and eventually going to release my debut album in January 2026. In particular, being able to independently produce the music I truly wanted in 2022 was a turning point for me, proving my growth as a producer and confirming that I was on the right path as an artist.
Your next music goal:
My next goal is to push my sound further on a larger scale, releasing more music, reaching wider audiences, and performing at bigger stages while staying true to the underground energy and community that shaped me.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who and why?
I’d love to collaborate with Hedex because his raw, high-energy approach to drum & bass perfectly aligns with my vision. His ability to blend heavy bass with crowd-driven impact is something I deeply respect and want to explore together.
Your favourite song/lyrics:
"Open my mouth to breathe the words to you
But words just won′t come out, so I cried
Write on the canvas built from feeling
Emotion persevering inside"
(Hybrid Minds, Catching Cairo - Touch.)

Your community shout out:
Ichiko AobaI want to show love to Ichiko Aoba (@ichikoaoba). Her music deeply inspires me through its emotional honesty and delicate storytelling. She brings a very strong Asian atmosphere into her work, especially through the melodies she sings and the chord progressions she uses, which feel both traditional and timeless. Her ability to create intimate, immersive worlds with minimal elements shows that music doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful, it just needs to be sincere. As an Asian artist, her work represents authenticity and artistic courage, motivating me to stay true to my own sound and identity.
Anything else you'd like to share:
I’m releasing my debut album, Bright Colour, on January 2026. The album reflects my personal journey with sound and life, capturing my growth as an artist through evolving bass textures, emotions, and experiences that shaped who I am today.
