A sobering reminder of how fragile connection can be, and how powerful it is to reach out, listen, and love while we still can

Following three singles exploring love, visibility, and family ties, Fedge now releases his most vulnerable work yet: Wish I Saw the Signs, out November 14. Written in memory of a close friend lost to suicide, the song is a sobering meditation on grief, hindsight, and the words left unsaid.

With intimate vocals set against atmospheric pop production, Wish I Saw the Signs carries the weight of hindsight: the texts replayed, the empty replies, the pain hidden behind a painted smile. Each lyric lands like a confession, including the refrain: “You were drowning inside, but you painted a smile / I wish I saw the signs, the signs of the fight in your eyes.”

““Writing this song was my way of keeping his memory alive. I kept asking myself if I could’ve done more, if I missed the signs. It broke me open in a way I wasn’t ready for, but it also helped me start healing. These are the words I never got to say to him — the things you wish you could go back and tell someone just one more time. I hope this song reaches anyone who’s ever felt that kind of ache, and reminds them to check in, to listen, and to love a little louder.” - Fedge

Earlier this fall, Wish I Saw the Signs was released exclusively on Bandcamp, with all proceeds donated to The Trevor Project, the leading nonprofit providing suicide prevention and crisis support for LGBTQ youth. The song arrives on all streaming platforms November 14.

Following the bittersweet regret of Too Early, Too Late, the defiant disco energy of Invisible to You, and the aching pop anthem Can’t You See, this release shifts the tone and pulls listeners into the quietest, most vulnerable corner of Fedge’s debut EP Through It All, out early next year.

Artist bio:
Fedge is a Taiwanese American artist turning raw emotion into glittering pop. Based in San Francisco, his forthcoming debut EP Through It All, arriving early 2026, is both cinematic and confessional, exploring queerness, identity, and the quiet strength of breaking cycles and coming home to yourself. His first four singles—Too Early, Too Late, Invisible to You, Can’t You See, and Wish I Saw the Signs—lay the emotional groundwork for the upcoming release, weaving themes of regret, confrontation, and the plea for tenderness where love feels conditional. “I make music to heal myself and hopefully help someone else feel less alone,” Fedge says.
