Captures the haunting realization of being loved too soon—and returning the feeling just a little too late
Meet Fedge, a queer Taiwanese American artist unafraid to name the feelings we’re often taught to hide. His debut single Too Early, Too Late, out May 23, blends introspective songwriting with shimmering synth-pop and unexpected pedal steel textures—bridging melancholy and memory with a pop sensibility that stays with you long after the final note.
At once intimate and cinematic, Too Early, Too Late is the kind of debut that doesn't scream to be heard—but instead sits beside you, quietly devastating. Written about a relationship where love and timing never quite aligned, Fedge captures the haunting realization of being loved too soon—and returning the feeling just a little too late.

“Sometimes it takes losing someone to realize how much they meant to you. But even then, you can still honor the love by growing from it.” - Fedge
Raised in Taiwan and now based in San Francisco, Fedge is part of a new wave of queer artists reshaping pop—artists who pair vulnerability with polish, and whose lyrics read like journal entries you weren’t meant to see. Inspired by the emotional honesty of Gracie Abrams and the layered production of Chappell Roan and Troye Sivan, Fedge’s sound is distinctly his own: confessional, atmospheric, and emotionally grounded.
On Too Early, Too Late, he sings of a partner who gave everything from the start, while he held back—too scared to open up, too unsure to trust what was real. The song unfolds through ocean-side imagery, late-night silence, and one last promise to keep their heart safe, even if they’ve already moved on.
While Too Early, Too Late marks his first official release, it’s just the beginning. More music will follow this summer, with each song pulling deeper into themes of queerness, healing, and belonging. Fedge isn’t chasing perfection—he’s building connection. And he hopes that in telling his story, someone else feels a little less alone in theirs.
