Sūn Jùn (pronounced “soone tuune”) is a visionary Sino-Khmer artist currently based in France. By breaking the rules of his classical training, he crafts a fusion of dreamy textures, raw emotion, and forward-thinking acoustic & electronic soundscapes in an alternative pop format.

Before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Sūn Jùn produced for exciting international acts like Ramengvrl, CHLOBOCOP, Tallisker, El Mehdi or Antlive, amassing millions of streams and securing major radio placements in various key territories & sync placements.

In 2024, he released STIGMA, an alternative pop journey, supported by a Southeast Asian tour with standout performances at AXEAN in Singapore and Monsoon in Vietnam. His authenticity and live presence are building a loyal TikTok following.

Momentum continues in 2025 with “escape from…”, a dream pop anthem inspired by Beach House and The Neighbourhood. It marks the start of “after everything.”, a 7-single series about young lovers in a post-apocalyptic world. It leads to his second album “SUBSTANCE”, set to drop in March 2025.

Sūn Jùn’s music transcends genres and culture blending nostalgia with innovation. With emotionally charged storytelling and boundless creativity, he is not just making music, he is shaping a timeless legacy.

GET TO KNOW - completed April 2025
3 words to describe you:
Spontaneous / Deep / Affable

Describe your sound:
I create songs that tickle the brains without a specific genre. I have a knack for creating cinematic feels no matter if I go alone with my falsetto or my guitar, or if I go deep in sound design.

Describe the moment you knew that you wanted to pursue music:
When I realized that my studies and the prospect of working in a company made me feel miserable.

How does your heritage impact your art?
My ethnic heritage played a big role in my switch from being a producer to a solo artist: in my first project STIGMA, I tackle the topic of the stigma of mental health problems growing up in an asian family as a man. I struggled with depression for many years and it was repressed because of my upbringing. I like to say that I had to come out with my mental health problems to my family.

What moment are you most proud of in your music journey so far?
When I was on tour in South East Asia to support the release of STIGMA: I played a show in Phnom Penh, the city that my parents had to run away from when the khmer rouge came to the power.

Your next music goal:
Going on tour in Europe.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who and why?
Lana Del Rey, that's random but that's true I have an unsaid fascination for her music and her vocal textures. I would die to see her live and sing along a song like cherry. !!!

Lyrics you live by:
"Still haven't left like I promised
Waiting for you if I'm being honest
Been a while since I've known what I've wanted
It's you 'til the days that we're rotten"
(corbin - ice boy)

The lyrics i'm the most proud of lately and that describes a common feeling in me is:
"The weight of nothing is crushing my bones"
(under my... - Sūn Jùn)

3 songs you're listening to right now:
enough for you - wisp
still - Bladee, Yung Lean
se mig igen - Kackla

Your community shout out:
I came across w.y.huang (I believe he's from sg!) on spotify, i think he's amazing it's like for fans of Elliot Smith and acoustic music.

I also love my friend manica (@mmnca) from bkk with whom we make tunes for sync, we recently got placed on the new season of The White Lotus HBO!

Anything else you'd like to share:
I have a just released my new song "under my..."

I stripped down my production to the minimal and focus more on songwriting on this one: it was actually soothing to write this journey coming from a dark place. SPOTIFY

And I just put out a lyric video with all my handwriting from my notebook
