Born and raised in South East London to Pakistani-Indian parents, ANGELI blends her British Asian heritage and love of alt rock/indie/pop punk to champion the voice of the outsider and question the status quo. The result is a refreshing marriage of cultures and social commentary which offers a much needed respite from the current musical landscape.

GET TO KNOW - completed February 2024

3 words to describe you:
Very very charming

3 words to describe your music:
Genre-bending, FRESH

If it does, how does your heritage impact your art?
There's not enough stories about the immigrant experience and sociopolitics in the mainstream and those are the things I enjoy writing about the most. I write the music I would have wanted to hear when I was younger and struggled with identity and belonging. This is something I think everyone can relate to on some level.

My music fuses the two parts of my identity; being an emo kid at heart and my Indian heritage, adding these influences into my sound throughout.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who and why?
Master Peace because he's bringing 00s indie back on the map and Hyphen for the political bangers!

Your next career/music goal:
Continue releasing this year (watch this space!) and do a sh*t ton of live performances

Top 3 go to songs/artists:
Everything Everything - No Reptiles
Master Peace - Country Life
Meg Thee Stallion - Cobra (have you heard the guitars on that??)

Words you live by:
Not for self, but for all
